Re: Quatra Bras - Hills and Ridges

A little late here but my 2 cents after visiting the battlefield several times. The terrain on the French right was a bit more undulating by the villages. The ground in front of the cross roads does slope down towards the stream. There are certainly areas of dead ground especially on the other or Br...

Re: Coastal Patrol Questions

Thanks for the responses. I should mention that I am running the scenario from the Special which has multiple ships with large caliber guns - usually only one each though. As I mentioned above I will see how rolling in multiples works. I do really like this system much better than that other one whi...

Re: Coastal Patrol Questions

1) The dice rolling for the large caliber guns vs. automatic weapons came about because oh the nature of a large HE shell as opposed to small arms against basically plywood. To streamline that process would lessen the detailed damage which is how the system works. It does not use hit points. 2) If ...

Coastal Patrol Questions

I had several players in a recent play test game raise issues with the rules and I wondered if anyone here who has played or run CP games had this come up. First there was a dislike of all the dice rolling for hits and damage mainly with large caliber guns which roll multiple d6 for "hits" if the sh...

Re: Anglo Dutch War

A late response. Nice job with the modifications. Just to clarify no square rigged ship should be able to sail closer than 60 degrees to the wind. It is not to do with the wheel, just the way the rigging is set up - the geometry if you will. The ships were generally not as weatherly that is correct ...

Re: KMH 'Coffee & Danish' at '...Lard Enough'

I posted a response in the IO group. I will running the Battle of Lake Erie using the "To Covet Glory" supplement at Cold Wars - tomorrow actually (pending some government mandated change ofc).

Re: KMH with Black Seas Ships

Not yet. I intend on using the "To Covet Glory" supplement for lake battles using large scale ships - It was written with larger scale ships in mind. The author did not change the movement and fire distances so we'll see how that plays out. (Although he uses inches until the ships come into range.)

Re: Faster turn sequence

I have run games at shows with 4-6 tanks no problem. It helps to have a referee move the players along in their turns though.

I have seen house rules for the sequence. Instead of dicing to see the order of play you draw cards. Speeds up this aspect of the game.

KMH at Historicon with Lard America

As part of the Lard America group I ran a KMH game at Historicon in Lancaster PA. The Battle of Lissa 1811. A battle of Frigate squadrons in the Adriatic. The British squadron of Elite JJTs got separated and defeated by the numerically superior Franco-Venetian squadron. Here are some photos: The Bri...
