Re: Big man question

Yes, they can be shot at, but the chances of being hit are slim.

Calculate fire as normal as if the Big Man were a squad of infantry. That gives you the number of deaths (if any) in the "squad". Roll a D10 as usual and the Big Man is killed if you roll under the number of hits.

Re: Italian squad sizes and tweaking Battle for Liberation

Hi Dan The LMG Squad gets an extra dice when firing for having two squad support weapons. The two Action Italian squads in the Sicily book are deliberate. As usual in IABSM, they represent the fighting strength of the squad as opposed to the paper- or actual strength,..but tweak away. Just be carefu...

Re: Russian Rifle Company Q

Hi Attaching an MMG to an infantry squad is an interesting one, to which the best answer is "it depends"! Technically, it's possible, before the game begins, to attach an MMG to an infantry squad. The MMG would then have to stay attached to the squad for the rest of the game, and would (although it ...

Re: Greek Infantry Company 1940

Hi Regarding the IABSM list, three 12-man squads is quite large and represents a paper-strength platoon. I would suggest a more realistic and manageable-on-the-tabletop number would be a field strength of 10 men per squad: casualties not yet replaced, off on a task, left behind for some reason etc. ...

New Scenario Pack Available

Rich has kindly let me post about my new scenario pack: Marlowe to Maidenhythe. It's not for a TFL ruleset but for the English Civil War rules For King & Parliament . https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5406c773e4b087d8052ef58b/1616762707004-DGMQ6PT7VVL1ITO4J8JI/ke17ZwdGBToddI8pDm48kB2VIDU...

Re: Shieldwall Markers Experiment!

Great idea. I'm going to borrow it too.

And Mars was, of course, technically the god of battle and fighting: I'm more into Athene i.e. military strategy!

Re: Great rules & ideas

Glad you're happy, and good luck with the gaming: you will indeed find that using historical tactics is the way to succeed in IABSM.
I look forward to reading the AAR!
