Re: Carriers and CO's

F,

See Section 5.3 p21. Deploying Reserves.

The Carrier/Scout platoon is classed as Motorised Infantry thus cannot deploy from a Combat Patrol.

Though Vickers MMGs in a carrier or single Wasp is ok.

Re: GDA2

N66, 1. When units are destroyed due to losses (firing/melee/ discipline test) I think that they should still be considered to be making their initial rout/retreat move. It can often happen that when such a unit is removed the troops to rear are totally unaffected but, if the retreating/routing unit...

Re: BUA Question, FAQ

B, Glad you enjoyed the rules! 8-) The defender rolled six ambushes during the Pre-game deployment phase and used one of them to deploy the two German medium MMG sections as a platoon in two adjacent BUAs (one in each BUA) with a road running between them. When the ambush was spring as a British pla...

Re: British Infantry smoke

G,

British smoke only lasts while the British infantry are moving and only lasts for that one action.

Though the same infantry can lay more smoke if they opt to move again in a following action.

Re: Artillery effects duration

N, Re: Even though we understand each turn has no specific time duration it felt a little counter intuitive to move into the abandoned village the same phase but that is the way we played it. I think of it this way. Artillery can only be called in at the very start of your phase. Therefore no units ...

Re: Artillery effects duration

N, How long are the effects of an artillery barrage meant to last? The current phase, or the current turn? Artillery effects only last for that Action. Except for Smoke that lasts for either 1 phase or 2 phases. • Say the enemy unit elects to take the additional shock and not abandon the BUA. Could ...

Re: Reinforcing the Skirmish Line

S1870,

Yes!

It's something I'll address in a future FAQ/Edition.

As a hint any unit on 10+ casualties cannot reinforce the Skimish Line.

Re: GDA2

Otto, If we take a look at this diagram what has happened to Durutte? If we took this as four GdA brigades attacking, we could interpret this as Durutte has been Hesitant for at least one or more turns and hence his attack, although echeloned, is still well behind the others and coming in late? http...

Re: Platoon AT fire

G57, See Section 12.1 Infantry Platoons, p53. • An infantry platoon may fire an attached A/T section or use a rifle section to fire the integral A/T weapon at a different target from the rest of the platoon, under the same fire action. So a Rifle platoon of three sections can fire with two sections ...
