Re: Retreat and Withdrawels

S,

1. Yes - its unformed in position.

2. If this happens during the charge see 8.5.1.

Re: Retreat and Withdrawels

S, 1. If a support has not fought in melee, then there is no impact upon that unit if fellow brigade units lose the melee. The Combat Results table only refers to the unit/s that fought in the melee. Whether a support it's unformed or not depends upon its position in relation to the unit that lost t...

Re: Skirmishers Recover Casualty

S,

The former. (Though in doing so you also achieve the latter!)

Re: Command Radius in GdA2

N, Absolutely! Think of this from the other way - why would the player split up his brigade units if it brings no positives whatsoever and only contributes towards his defeat. Units such as garrisons, batteries and local reserves were historically dropped off and left well outside of what we call &q...

Re: Mixed Brigades and reinforcing

N,

Unfortunately you can't reinforce as your brigadier is elsewhere doing other things!

Re: Command Radius in GdA2

N, See 6.3.2 - Taskings, 8.1.1 - Charging, single units and supported charges, 9.7.3. Redeploying batteries, and 16.4.2 - reinforcing combat. You can drop off units for specific duties, but once out of command radius they are then very restricted as to what offensive action they can take, if any. DB

Re: Another Artillery question please

R,

Correct - they fire normally until they reach 6 casualties. However they are usually leaving the firing line before this!

This short lifespan counter-balances their firepower.

Re: French Divisional Support options in GDA2

C, Yes, in reality they probably would come from the same regt, but for variety we've made them different, it also helps more with the early period structure as well. If you take a look at p98 the French Army you'll see that not all YG are considered as LI trained. This is to reflect that, so it cou...

Re: Which of the tokens from the GdA set are still relevant in GdA2?

S,

The vast majority of the original set of tokens still apply.

It was a deliberate policy that we didn't wish to force players to buy a new set under GdA2.

Fire Discipline applies under both editions - and we use smoke to represent this, rather than a marker.
