GDA with real organisation?

I want to use GDa with the real organizations, that is 2- sometimes 3 brigades per division, and often a corps commander. Does it really kill the command system to have fewer brigades than the rules give? or do I have to shrink a bit the number of "adc"? Also, want to just use one Cp/ adc for each "...

Learning and discovering: scales question

hi learning the system, will try to have French players to use GDA instead of that Fr system they all want. Not easy. I have a scale problem: 15mm: 15cm = one column move and musket fire. it states 1mm=1m ok. And then that a turn is 10 minutes (hardly we would want less as no way they would change t...

New site, SP2 house rules, AAR...

Hello just having finally started a site, put in my house rules for AWI sharp practice in 18 mm, and a game AAR plus pics of my tables. To come (in D6 weeks) figures choices, terrain making and a scenario generator mash up of SP2 's and the best of Musket and Tomahawk. Hoping that this endeavour wil...

Re: festicuffs and fear of charge?

today I had an uncommon fit of intelligence...I opened the old SP! inside was this in festicuffs whic has been dropped in the new one the Richman thinking probably players wholet their troops into such a hopeless situation will be "rewarded" with big force morale loss, enough to cut the "gras" in ze...

Re: festicuffs and fear of charge?

Did you try?
the mod should not get into the way normal things are done as it would unbalance everything a delicate whole well thought of by the GrandMaster 2FL.

that's why I thought about this borrowing from the roineks vs boers as this system obviously spins of SP2 in many ways.

Re: festicuffs and fear of charge?

and... yes I thought about the losses being just runners, if tallied separately with Dawn and departure it can be done. Still the bump in the way sort of spoiling attack can be done.I had this with ancient games where a stand of skirmishers gets deliberately in the way of a huge phalanx to make them...

Re: festicuffs and fear of charge?

Yep but… I use SP2 as 1 for 2-4 scale in 18mm with distances as per the rules which fits very well. 2-3 groups are roughly a company in AWI. This avoids the dribble of several units in 1-1 scale like deserters “army” which I can’t stand as in real life hardly you would have bits of under the size of...

festicuffs and fear of charge?

Hi gents Having had a number of SP2 Games I found mainly one disturbing thing (On others I might use things a bit my way but no major mods that I am aware of!) The fisticuffs / charge thing bothers me from time to time. That is I’ve had that long understanding that troops often run before contact, n...

Re: Native lists for FIW?

Yes the article in the Summer special gives it. from my reading they did not bear well many losses so the shock+casualty should keep them from behaving like dervishes. They should move faster and be relying on whittling down the whites by fire and hit and run then pounce on once the target is ready ...
