Re: Leave the field with honour

Hi Ricky,
I’d say that the brigade still falters even if the unit won the melee. As far as the rest of the brigade is concerned one of its constituent combat units has been dispersed and is no longer available.

Re: Sharp Practice amd the 1745

Hi Doug, Yes it always difficult to find the balance between creating a small but reasonably effective force and the inclusion of all those iconic or colourful units from a period you’d like. If you’re anything like me you end up collecting at least twice as many figures as you really need just in c...

Re: fixed defenses

I generally agree in advance if fixed defences are available to be used in a game, but not what they are. It’s just a courtesy not a rule. I do the same with the availability of armour. If you select an Engineer/Pioneer Squad rather than individual teams, it comes with a Junior Leader and the abilit...

Re: fixed defenses

Fixed defences like roadblocks, barbed wire and minefields are placed on the table after the Jump Off Points are placed and immediately before the game begins. See the relative entries on page 81. They can be placed anywhere on the table though they are generally best placed where they can channel e...

Re: Leave the field with honour

Hi Ricky,
Can’t say that I recall any such a suggestion and I don’t see anything in the rules to suggest it.

Re: Sharp Practice amd the 1745

Very pretty. Given the scale of Sharp Practice you might want to stick to all the infantry coming from 1 or 2 parent units at most rather than try to reproduce multiple units of single groups which won’t be that effective. On the other hand if you want to paint that variety of figures can I suggest ...

Re: Handgranaten

Yes, Handgranaten is first and foremost a move into Close Combat accompanied by throwing grenades, so you must always move the distance rolled to try to contact the enemy. If you roll too little to reach the enemy that’s tough, you’ve fallen short and likely to suffer next phase.

Re: 3+ teams by eachother being shot at?

Hi Berling, donglewwe is correct. Fire is directed at a specific enemy team (or section in no team sections) and any hits are shared amongst teams within 4” of the target. Which teams are affected will depend on their relative positions. This is irrespective of the teams being part of the same secti...

Re: Clarifications.

Hi Darkman, The Off table Machine Gun rules in the Blitzkreig 1940 supplement refer to a marker being placed on “the table edge” which means the side which the player deploys from and is not affected by the positioning of Jump Off Points. Basically it represents the MG firing from a fixed position b...
