Re: Sharpe Practice Characteristic

I do not add the dice for the Leader's status, as the leader isn't activating/directing the fire. As for being able to define a particular target, it depends on if the unit being activated with Sharp Practice is a single Group or a Formation. Single groups may target any unit within their arc of fir...

Re: Ie.IG.18 And indirect fire

No. Even at the gun's maximum elevation of 73 degrees, the minimum range of the shell is going to be much longer than a typical CoC board is wide.

Re: Using command cards to increase Leader Level

That seems reasonable (i.e. he can only issue commands to groups or formations to which he is physically attached)

Re: Fisticuffs Anomaly

I too would have had the lone remaining native and his leader retreat. Think of it like this: men with mortal wounds don't always fall immediately, and once you're running away you can't see that all of your opponents are down. :)

Re: At the Sharp End - Full Ladder campaigns

I've played a full-ish ladder campaign, in that it was 4 rungs on each side instead of 6. It was intended for Kasserine Pass, with the Axis trying to break through the pass and flood into the Allied rear/supply areas while the Allies were in turn trying to get past the Western Dorsale mountains and ...

Re: Routed troops in a campaign

Yeah, the only time you need to worry is actually from troops who are still on the table and too far away (or blocked by intervening enemy troops) from a JOP, at which there is a chance they could be captured. I have played games where I had to take phases to actually move my troops back such that t...

Re: Share your favourite house rules

I use it when I'm teaching or putting on a "learn to play" game at a convention. No one likes to pay money for an event just to get completely housed by the opponent getting a long run of phases.

Re: Who can leaders give activations to?

In general, a unit with an attached Leader can only be "remotely activated" by a Leader of higher status. As an example, if your entire force were led by a Status 3 leader, under ordinary circumstances he could use one of his Command Initiatives to activate your Gauls (provided they were mobbed up t...

Re: Beginner - bit stumped from the very offset

The mechanism is easy - if you have 6 points of Support, you can get something from List 6. Or two things from List 3. Or any combination that adds up to 6. The list's number is essentially how much each entry on that list costs in "points."
