Armoured recce squads were 12 men, two of whom were drivers. 6 men per 250. So the 250 can dismount five men (including the JL) and it'll still have the driver on board.

Panzergrenadier squads varied in size depending on what type of unit they came from and what stage of the war. Generally speaking squads got smaller as the war ground on.

It's not really clear what the generic PzGren squad in the rulebook is supposed to represent, but it does mention that it includes their driver fighting on foot. So if you mount your squad in one then you'll need to leave 2 men on board (driver and assistant). The squad can take both its LMGs when it dismounts, the gun on the 251 stayed with the vehicle.

The 250 was an APC used by the armoured recce battalion of the panzer divisions. The 251 was used by the panzergrenadier regiments, each platoon had several of their own.

Most platoons in most panzergrenadier regiments did not have any 251s of their own. The majority of them were transported in trucks.

There were exceptions, Panzer Lehr were fully equipped with halftracks in Normany, 1944 for example. Ironically the half-tracks were not at their most useful for a division fighting defensively in close country.

Both the 2nd and 21st panzer had two armoured panzergrenadier battalions at Normandy. Those from the 21 were french built.
