Ideas for COC Guadalcanal?

Post by Danni1 » Sat Aug 11, 2018 4:21 pm

I thought it would be kinda fun to do some wargaming scenarios on the WW2 Guadalcanal campaign for COC? DO any of the older and wiser heads on the forum have any suggestions how to adapt the rules for terrain, forces, et all? Thanks in advance!

I'd look at Len Tracey's jungle rules (as outlined in the Malaya Campaign article in TFL 2015 Christmas Special) as a good starting point for terrain rules.

What him, and then him said. And kudos for clicking on the idea of Guadalcanal - having dogfaces and leathernecks battling IJA and SNLP has fantastic potential for a seriously good mini-campaign. And you could do a whole lot worse than drawing on The Thin Red Line (by James Jones - for the former), and Helmet For My Pillow (by Robert Leckie - for the latter) as inspirations.

I've toyed with the idea of either for a couple of years, but gone nowhere fast. So far.
