Support options and force rating

Post by zoldar »

Hi, I searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer.

Can the points you get for choosing support options be above 10 due to difference in force rating?
Or is it capped to 10?

In campaigns it is often set much higher 16 -19 is not uncommon. However as you get more units it becomes harder to activate them all as you only have the same number of dice.

Thanx a lot.

In the probe scenario it says d6 support for the attacker and half of that for the defender. Is it d6 then add the force rating difference and then half?

No, you halve the D6 roll for the defender then add the difference in Force Rating to whichever side has the lower FR.

Which is why it's better to go for a few high value supports.

Unless you lose them to a single hit, in which case you've just wasted a lot of support points.
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Yes thats correct Baron, I think anything more than 16 points is problematic.....unless you are Soviets. 😋

Also depends on how you use them. Fixed defences, adjutant, pre-game barrage, upgrades (SMGs for rifles, extra rifle grenades etc) are all useful and don’t use up command dice.
