Crew went up from 2 to 3 men and a lot of them got a bigger engine, too.
At my age, I'd like a bigger engine too. (Was this something to do with the chemical stimulants that those Shabby Nazis often imbibed?)

I don't think the shabby Nazis had those little blue pills did they?

I didn't know that I knew the turrets were slightly different and in a different spot on the chassis but IIRC the Rubicon kit comes with options for both?

In the end I went with the resin Blitzkreig 222 as it was on sale.

I figured I would use the 222 more than the 221 over the years
The Rubicon kit option is for the command version 223 which used surplus 221 turrets. Probably not too many people would object to proxying that for a 221 at any rate.

Good to know, will check the lists.

It was a cracking support option for the scenario....lots of open ground to cross!

I know its all about keeping it simple but with these light armoured vehicles I think they falling between the cracks a little bit and are oddly a bit OP, off the top of my head I would favour:

All weapons having an AP of 1 a close range on anything with 2< armour or similar..... I'm sure .303 ball would be worrying in a 222 at these ranges, I know you can use LMG's at close range but it needs a bit of a buff I think.

So, did anyone notice the SdKfz 221 has a two-man crew, a driver and a commander-gunner. That makes it a 1-Man-Turret, with all the wonderful penalties that go with it.

But according to p 22 of the BK book on small turrets
For some light vehicles, such as those armed with a single machine gun or self-loading cannon, this was not a problem. However, for vehicles
with a gun capable of firing H.E. and A.P. shells the commander was severely over-worked and this affected the performance of the entire crew.

So I do not believe this would affect the 221 or some other armoured cars

The Sdkfz 221 is not listed as a 1MT in the 1940 Handbook, confirming TTs answer.
