Elephant v pickets charge

Post by Jiefu » Sat Jul 13, 2019 4:11 am

Is pickets charge a development of elephant, or a different game based on different principles. If the latter, what is the main difference.

Two different games, but I am afraid that is all I can add,

Kind regards,

Pickett's Charge is a completely different game written by a different author Dave Brown. It's mechanisms are similar to General D'Armee also written by Dave and also published by Reisswitz Press. It takes a different approach to command & control but still emphasises the importance of leadership and battlefield friction.

I haven't played Elephant for years so can't give you a real comparison. One key difference is that PC is not card driven, both sides activate units in each phase of the turn with the player holding the initiative acting first.
