Useful WW2 podcast

Post by BaronVonWreckedoften » Sun Jun 16, 2019 1:34 pm

Those of you who have listened to the latest Oddcast from Lard Island may recall His Nibs referring to listening to a regular podcast on all things WW2 hosted by Al (the Pub Landlord) Murray and historian James Holland, called "We have ways of making you talk." * There have been a dozen episodes so far, dealing with subjects as varied as Monty's hat, the relative merits of squad/section automatic weapons (apparently, the Germans really rated the Bren), and myths about Omaha beach, to "forgotten heroes" who helped shape Allied, and especially British, strategy.

Thoroughly recommended.

( * Judging by the first six episodes, the easiest way to make Holland talk is for Murray to start saying something - they must be incredibly good mates, for Murray not to have decked him for his near-universal habit of interrupting before Murray completes one sentence. )
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Tho reading Holland a alysis of German MG's I think he might be mixed up his MG 34's with MG 42's and also seems to ignore their usefulness on the Easten Front
Try stopping Russian Regimental attack with a couple of Brens 🙄
