flamethrower vs Infantry

Post by JOHN BOND 001 » Sat Mar 16, 2019 10:04 pm

I have only used a Flamethrower team once and that was a couple of years ago, can someone please refresh my memory in regards to the firing procedure.
Is it a case of rolling 12D6 at Close range and do you take into account troop quality?
cheers John

Yup the only thing different is no cover bonus
I used one yesterday - first time in ages
I made the mistake of counting it as effective range not close as it was over 6" - a hangover from BA
Anyway the result was 1 hit no shock or kills

Flamethrowers vs infantry
Does the targeted troop type matter, when using a Flamethrower for calculating the HIT number? or is it like HE which does not discriminate between Green, Regular or Elite?

TT so its not a general 4+ (like HE) To Hit but is the following
3+ Green
4+ Regular
5+ Elite
To Hit number?

Hit effect for all OPEN terrain.

Is that right?

Yup nothing to indicate it is a HE +4 in the rulesil
I find the troop quality a bit hard ro rationalize apart from rhe elites just sitting there lifhting their ciggies from the flame.

FWIW my reading if the effects in real life were:
1.) If you could run away you would run away.
2.) If you couldn't run away you died.

It should be harder to use but pretty deadly when you could get a alshot in without being killed on the way in.

On average in CoC and BA over the last 5 years my flamethrowers average 1.5 hits and I use them 8/10 games .......sigh
