RAF Ground Support Vehicle Camo Schemes?

Post by oozeboss » Sat Dec 08, 2018 8:54 pm

My paltry contribution to the Asian-Pacific Spektarkle at Cancon 2019 is to be the provision of a table and scenario themed around an attack on an airstrip. This was a recurring theme throughout this conflict, but although I'm simplifying the terrain into something of a cliche (in order to making it visually and to a degree, tactically interesting), I'm basing the scenario that I am designing on the two assaults on Palel airfield during the Battle of Imphal in 1944 (the Indian National Army attacked it on 28 April - but none of the five accounts I have found of that assault actually agree on what happened - and then a raiding party from the 213th IJA Regiment succeeded in blowing up 9 planes in early July).

I have built a British CMP truck, a Willys Jeep, an Albion 3-Point Fueller, a US Jeep MB-T/T3 Military Trailer and three aircraft tender trolleys (an Oil Bowser, a Trolley Accumulator, & an Ammunition Trolley) and would prefer to paint them in theater appropriate camouflage. Does anybody know what colours the RAF/ Royal Indian Air Force used on their ground hugging vehicles in 1944/ 45?

Thanks for looking, mate. I'm not doing the rickshaw, but I have done up an ammunition cart being drawn by a mule.

That's very personal and perhaps not warranted?

No. It's very warranted.

In fact, I have a warrant of commitment out now for TT. ;)
