Official sized jumpoff markers

Post by jony663 » Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:53 pm

Quick question, what is the official size of the actual markers? There were two sizes in the msg bag I bought from TOOFATLardies, is the small one patrol and the other jumpoff marker or is it the other way around.

Large for patrol.
Small for jump-off

In the end, it’s the centre that really matters.

I think OldNick's right - no official size with the best guidance being "We recommend using an unobtrusive vignette..." - which would suggest not big.

As Old Nick says it doesn't really matter which one you use, but it's easier to tuck the smaller JOP into suitable bits of cover on the tabletop.

As long as you and your opponent agree on the measuring point then they can be any size or shape you wish. Most people use the centre, but you could just as easily make it from a figure or piece of equipment if you wanted to create your own vignettes. I use this as one of my Japanese JoPs:

So something smaller than Horrocks' pre-battle briefing in "A Bridge Too Far" then?

" I'd love to see it at one end of the table..."

...and then see it moved 18" on a CoC die!

I used FoW large bases for my Brit Para JOPs as the drop canisters wouldn't fit on a normal base.
