New review

Post by TroubleAtTheMill » Thu Nov 08, 2018 11:03 am

My latest podcast episode features a review of IABSM, as the first in the 'Cold Light Of Day' series where I review things I've played for long enough to have a good grasp of the ups and downs in real usage.

I enjoyed the podcast. IABSM is my favourite game too. You made a good point about the game in 1/300th being about the right scale.

In terms of parts that are not so good:
- I would change the statistically dubious direct HE fire table myself to just make 1 1 on the first die rolled a miss
- Our only experience of airpower has been that it was over-powered (too effective against my Jagdpanther in one of the Benneville or Bust scenarios most definitely): I suggest airpower, at least in Normandy, would be better depicted as some sort of blanket effect against Germans - say an automatic Pin.
- I am not convinced by the artillery spotting mechanism also, though not sure what to do about it.
