We kicked off a new campaign this week - Last Stand on Opium Hill. It's a four map campaign based in Singapore in 1942 written specifically for Chain of Command by Mark Backhouse and published in Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy magazine (issue 101). This gives me a chance to use my recently painted Far East tropical British platoon for the early part of the war and get geared up for the forthcoming Far East Handbook.
The good folks at WSS magazine and Kawansaray Publishing very kindly gave me permission to reproduce the campaign maps on my blog and even went so far as to provide me with better resolution copies. For this I am very grateful. They asked for nothing in return other than a credit, so if the campaign appeals to you please consider supporting them by buying a copy.
Here's the AAR for the first game http://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/ ... rio-1.html

Great to see you and Dave back in action, back on a lovely table as always, and another exciting and I'm sure pretty intense albeit short campaign ahead. Huzzah and Banzai to you both!

Couldn't have put it better!

No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
Defending against a probe on a wide table is a hard ask.

Indeed, even more so when it’s the Japanese using Jungle Fighters and a Ruse. Blink and they are on top of you.

Very nice!
I understand a far east CoC handbook is in the works. Do you know of any other scenarios/campaigns being available in magazines or otherwise (I have the Lard special with the Malaya campaign)? Particularly Kokoda would be nice (I'm building an Australian force).

Yes, Rich is working on the Far East Handbook at the moment. It’s turned into a bigger task than expected as he’s been trying to dig up information on the less well known allied units like the African regiments. Not sure when it’s due but probably not this side of Christmas (but I could be wrong).
One of the specials has info and a scenario for Chindits. I’ve done some work on a campaign for Milne Bay but it needs playtesting. There has been talk of a Kohima campaign but not sure if that features in the Handbook or will appear separately (or never LOL).
There’s a strong Australian CoC contingent, so I’m sure there’s an appetite for a Kokoda campaign.
John Bond ran a Pacific themed CoC tournament at Cancon a couple of years ago, I assume they have some scenarios related to that.
