Haha, nice. I'm from the states and had to look up those references. Was he as bad as he looks?

TT: yes, actually I have the Peter Pig motorized, a full motorcycle platoon actually, but all dismounted.

Btw, did Motorized troops, dragoon portes, or chasseurs wear the motorcycle helmet? Or the Adrian?

Cooper was a good magician who found that his act got more laughs when the tricks went wrong; rather like playing the piano very badly (another British comedian called Les Dawson), it takes a lot of skill to get it right - or wrong - properly. Cooper was also a brilliant chess player, even with best part of a bottle of scotch inside him, as a friend of mine once found out.

Tommy Cooper was quite surreal, and in his heyday, one of the funniest comedians in Britain.

Agree, it takes a certain comic genius to play the fool and make it work. Cooper had that genius.
