Hi
Under Infantry assault you cannot withdraw from the enemy once in volley range.
But can you Step back? If you were still inside the volley range would this be seen as an adjustment and not a withdrawal?
If yes this would be useful to line up on targets that may have appeared, shifted, wheeled or stepped back obliquely perhaps after you have made your initial approach move.

Hi Tim,
I can't see a problem with Stepping Back to realign on the enemy provided it doesn't take you out of volley range. I'd consider it to be an adjustment not a withdrawal from engagement with the enemy myself.

Hello,
if you spend Infantry Assault task, your brigade "must advance until at least one unit is within volley range of the enemy".
You cannot withdraw but you can step back with your units, but remember that one unit must remain in enemy infantry volley range.
