Consolidated Arsenal question

Post by Gaff-Oz »

Hi,
I'm currently building up my BEF support options and was wondering if somebody could explain the logic, or formula, behind the Support List costs of various vehicles to me?
The A10 cruiser, A11 Matilda and A12 Matilda II are all SL4, yet the A12 has + 1 armour and 5AP over the A11 (which has no advantage over the A12) and +3 armour over the A10, while the A10 does have a hull mg.
Mark VI, all variants, are also SL4, and while having the 'fast' and 'small' advantages they're - 4 armour vs an A12 and mg armed only.
The A9 is SL5 with -4 armour vs the A12 and = AP, and while it has the 2 mg turrets you still have only 2 Leader initiatives to activate weapons, so it is a limited advantage.
Compering these vehicles the A12 just seems the better value by a considerable margin, unless I needed high speed for a specific tactical situation, I can't imagine why I would field any of the others (especially the A11) if I had this option.
Can anyone enlighten me to the mechanics of this?

Thanks,
Gaff
