Homemade battle mats.

Post by agent_pumpkin »

Those of you that have made your own battle mats, what kind of sealant\caulk\adhesive do you use :?:

I'm planning on making a desert mat for my impending purchase of Perry's finest.

I swear by my blankets to be honest a I have a green muddy brown & buff coloured army blanket & build on them. I am rather tempted by faux fur having seen some good examples of that working. not a fan of grass mat except to chop up & cover scenery with.

I've only ever used sealant to create roads. I'm in the industry so I can get custom color sample tubes for free to match dirt and asphalt from all corners of the globe!

The current issue of Wargames Soldiers and Strategy, #69, has a well written article that sums up the current state of the art for 'canvas & caulking' battle mats. Excellent step-by-step with good pictures.

Will definitely be giving this a go.
