End of Act or End of Turn?

Post by Waterhorse »

It’s dawned on me that I could be getting these two (assuming they are different) confused.

My first puzzle is regarding the Tempus Fugit Card. Is it the case that when It’s played, if the next card is not a Leader Card, the game continues until all the deck is used and that is the end of aTurn?

If it is immediately followed by a Leader Card then it’s the end of an Act.

If these are true what is the difference between the two things?

If it’s not true, is it the case that the Turn/Act continues until a Leader Card comes up immediately after Tempus Fugit, otherwise play continues until the end of the deck, with a reshuffle and waits on the next time the cards come up in the right sequence?

The difference between the two is as follows:-

End of Act - This occurs when the Tempus Fugit card appears BEFORE any Leaders card has been played. No further cards are played. The players may then use any unused Signa Cards that have been drawn or from their hands to activate any units. Any melee which has not activated this turn then happens. At this point all the actions detailed in 2.3 on page 35 happen.

The cards are then shuffled and a new turn begins.

End of Turn - In most turns Leader Cards will have been drawn so that when the Tempus Fugit card is drawn, this signals an impending end of turn. No further cards are then drawn. After the TF is drawn players may still activate units which haven't been activated by Leaders during the turn using unused in play Signa cards or Signa cards in their hands using the process on page 34. Then any unactivated combats are fought. At this point the turn ends and the cards are shuffled for a new turn.

In all instances Signa Cards after TF can only be used to activate units - not use Points of Drill, Rally Shock, Enhance Performance or use Unit Characteristics.

The only time the Tempus Fugit card is ignored is if the Movement Random Event Nihil Expector in Omnibus has been triggered, when ALL cards will be played.

Hope that helps.

Don
