Formation Change to Square as a Charge Reaction

Post by jeb290 » Tue Oct 03, 2017 1:12 am

When a friendly infantry battalion is charged in the flank by enemy cavalry from a distance of 15cm or more, which friendly infantry units in the brigade can choose to attempt to form square?

Jeb,
Only those units which are the target of a charge can attempt to form Square during the Charge phase. It's a response to being charged.
Others could do so during the subsequent movement phase assuming the brigade is not Hesitant and the enemy not so close as to prevent formation changes.

I thought the one formation change allowed in that situation, during your movement phase, is to form square, even if close order enemies are within 5cm and your brigade is hesitant.

Jeb,
You are quite right there is an exception for units in Hesitant brigades changing to square, thats what I get for replying without double checking the rules.
