Timing of Rally\Refom

Post by Sgt Steiner » Fri Aug 11, 2017 9:11 pm

Hi

This came up in game.
If a Retreating/Routing unit is in a Brigade that Obey Orders rules state unit Rallies but also that this occurs in Move Phase (just like reforming from Unformed)
However if the unit is target of a charge in Charge phase does it count as Rallied or still Retreating/Routed ?
Ie if charge target are they still in Column of Mob and subject to Rout or Dispersal until Move Phase or are they 'fully' Rallied once Orders Obeyed but they cannot move in Move phase as that is when Rally is complete ?

I counted it as Unformed when rolling for being Charged as in process of Reforming but not sure if that is per rules ?

Cheers

Yes I think you were right.
A Retreating/Routing unit rallies during the Command Phase if the Brigade passes the Command or Falter test. At that point it becomes Unformed. It then reforms by standing still in the Movement phase.
So if they are a Charge target they will count as Unformed and not Retreat/Routed in my view.

Thanks for reply

Can't see this specified in rules but don't see how else to play it :-)
