Battle of Vitoria: Starter Scenario for GdA
I thought I would put together a quick division per side scenario for this great looking ruleset. I am hoping to have a solo playtest over the next couple of days before I introduce the rules to some gaming friends.
The scenario is based on Graham's advance south to cut off a French retreat to the northeast.
Any comments in respect to the unit rating is alway appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Thanks, I got 2 turns in yesterday. The game flows easily and all the mechanisms are quite clear. The QRS is excellent.
I may have a couple of questions about skirmishers but I will wait to see if they answer themselves.
The learning curve will be with ADC utilization, my dicing for brigades following orders has been horrendous, which leads me to believe that early in the game it is important to use your ADC's to get re-rolls rather then the fancy stuff.
Generally though the ruleset is really brilliant, I will post some photos today or tomorrow.

Hi John,
I'm interested to propose your intro scenario in my club...
Can you post a picture (or map) of your table in order to understand which scenery you have used and where ? (I suppose a standard table 180x120-150cm)
Thank you !

I do not have a map, but the starting position and the layout is pretty clear from this series of photos.

Hi John,
I think you'll find that you'll be generally using ADCs for brigade rerolls instead of the "fancy stuff" for the complete game.

hello,
I have played only two games but I noted that my behavior is focused to get Brigades ready to obey orders and then I used the most of my ADCs for re rollings..... and after I discovered that several are wasted because unnecessary or insufficient (double one or two results !!).
So I force myself for the future to use my ADC in different way ....
What is your experience ?

Our experience is mixed, sometimes that Brigade reroll is critical especially if your cavalry are facing a potential charge, other times it does feel wasteful when all the Brigades pass. Increasingly we will combine a brigade attachment ADC with others tasked with other functions like Infantry Assault to make sure the new orders are followed. There are never enough ADCs!

Re: Battle of Vitoria: Starter Scenario for GdA
It is hard to predict, I have yet to play a scenario where I had more than 4 ADC's per side, so they are very valuable. I think like John says if you have something critical which costs 2 ADC's which you might lose if you brigade hesitates it is well worth the 3rd ADC.
I have noticed though that if you are playing a defensive role, then a brigade hesitating is much less of a problem especially early in the game and I am much less likely to spend ADC's on re-rolls.
