Massed columns

Post by Dorsenne » Sun Oct 28, 2018 9:54 pm

Hello Sirs,
My question is about the massed columns.
Pag.60 : two or more infantry columns deployed side by side and within 5cm. of each other are classed Massed columns.
But if I have, for exemple, 2 battalions within 5cm, this is 1 massed column, or are 2 massed columns?
In my opinion this is 1 massed column or am I wrong?
Thanks for your interest.

Hi Paolo,
If each of the 2 battalions in your example are in column and within 5 cm [3"] of each other then both are classed as being Massed Columns in terms of the rules on page 60. So you have 2 massed columns.

Just think of this as are your battalions massed or not?

So its:

2 columns are side by side and within 5cms - so all are massed.

3 columns are side by side and within 5cms - so all are massed.

And so on.
