Pickett's Charge Game Photos

Post by grompix » Tue Feb 27, 2018 7:38 pm

A Facebook report (with lots of pics) on our most recent Pickett's Charge game at Border Reivers: -

This is the first 'Pickett's Charge' game we've had in a while and it unexpectedly threw us a bit since we automatically started using 'General d'Armee' routines. So, some hurried flicks through the rulebook were needed before the pennies all dropped into place in the end  ;)

Wonderful looking game.

Interesting method of noting unit markers.....may adopt that.

P.S. Nothing wrong with those veteran Hichcliffe's! 8-)

Thanks chaps, glad you liked it.
The magnetic disks for unit markers works very well even though it was a bit of a hassle filing small recesses on the back of each command base and gluing the disks in place. BTW the caption on the photo should read 'steel' paper rather than 'magnetic' paper.
I do need to get myself a some magnetic sheet though so I can place all those fiddly steel paper markers where they can be easily stored, seen and retrieved. (rummaging through a box of the tiny little blighters is a bit of a pain!).
I'm sure I've got some somewhere...

Beautiful game. Like me you have great taste by using the old Hinchliffe range. There are some cracking figures still available.Brilliant painting as well I love the style. Well done

The paint job on those figures is phenomenal! Great looking terrain too, inspiring to look at

Very nice looking game. And I agree the markers are quite clever as well. I should also say some excellent photography.

Tremendous looking game. The only small issue I'd have with the unit markers is that it can tip off the opponent about what grade of troops they are facing - taking away the surprise factor for each regiment/battalion. In our games we provide each player with half index cards listing his Brigade's units and troop grade.
