1940 Handbook questions / erratas

Post by powermonger » Mon Sep 17, 2018 5:35 pm

Hi: just want to post here the different doubts that may surge over the coming days.

1: How does the twin turrets of a british A-9 tank work?
Can i fire all 3MG’s with 2 initiatives? With 3? (Making that possible only with a senior leader).
Can i move 2D6 and fire both MG turrets at half effect?
Can i move 1D6 and fire all 3 MG’s?

Well, just want to know how the A9 and its particular array of weapons work.

I als noted that 2 pounder guns have access to HE (4 dice)!! That’s a nice surprise. I thought they carry no HE at all.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

Regards,

Diego

Previous replies about multi-turrets have said that these may be activated by additional command dice results of '1'; the turrets effectively being extra 'teams' on the tank. So the commander can activate the gunner and driver, or gunner and one hull gunner, using initiatives, but must use a separate command dice for each of the rest.

While they pack a lot of firepower, activating them all is going to use a lot of dice, but if that moment presents itself... ;)

As Arlequin says, multi-turreted tanks work precisely as other AFVs, the commander uses a command initiative to activate each crew position. However, you can also use a Command dice roll of 1 to activate a single unactivated position.

The 2 pounder gun in the AT section is correct, 1 dice of HE> The tanks are an error and I will be amending the PDF edition and reissuing in a few days when we have any other typos.

Page 37. The VB launcher description for the belgians could have a wrong description?.
In the Belgian Armaments Notes:

“It may only target a unit which can be seen by its Team, counting it as a close range target”

Shoul not say “counting it as an effective range target”??

Thanks in advance

Page 53. French reserve infantry platoon. The label line for list 3 support units is missing (goes from list 2 straight to list 4 support units).
