Does anyone have any idea what the difference between the different German waves are?

It may be as much about support as about platoon organisation - just a guess though.

If you can't wait until it's published, you could check out the German Blitzkreig Handbook for IABSM which was published earlier in the year. It describes the various Waves into which the German forces were organised. As Peter suggests the key differences were in the kind of support available and degree of mechanisation.

In general platoons from the lower numbered waves are stronger, are better equipped and are better led than those from the higher numbered waves.

Some of this happens at the platoon level, there are differences in the number of sections in a platoon (3 or 4), in the number of Senior Leaders available (1 or 2) and in the equipment available within the platoon. For example low numbered waves have MG34s but the higher numbered waves can be wholly or partially equipped with older German or captured Czeck LMGs.

There are also major differences in what's available in the support lists.

So much for the little “focus on scenery no more purchasing games, figures or game books” mantra, almost 6am on pocket money day, a promise of Stuka attacks, don’t mind if I do...

I do already have a full French army in 15mm
and shortly I will also have one in 28mm

sadly north star messed up my order - sent me 'normal' French infantry with no extra LMGS and Dragon Portes VB launchers
they said they will sort it though. I just have to wait for it to arrive

Mmm... yeah.... but on the other hand - it would be nice if it was delayed a bit so I could work on the painting queue before it gets interrupted by "oh shiny new stuff syndrome". :?

Bah, who am I kidding, if the book has to wait for me to finish painting it will never get released!
