Another 29 Let's Go question

Post by mgluteus »

We are replaying Scenario 3 as the Germans barely won the last one and have decided to hold and strengthen their defenses. They have lost a Marder. We know that the German unit is not the main unit fighting along the highway, but Campaign book seems ambiguous to me as to whether we should count casualties to that unit (not counting against the main unit) for subsequent replays of that scenario. We have to take into account the Marder loss(es). Thanks in advance

I'd say definitely. The Americans get a constant flow of new platoons (IIRC); the Germans don't, so would be defending that table with whoever was left from the first attack.

So this boils down to two parts. First, a morale check needs to be done since the AFV was KO's. Second, in all the campaigns I've played, I/we have not added in any support kills into the casualty count as you will never get those troops back. You pay for their loss when they are killed/routed/KO'd.

Hope this helps.

p 29
Post‐game tracking of these three key
indicators will progress as normal, even being
considered for Scenarios Four and Five (not
involving your force) as these engagements
are sufficiently close to hand and of such
import that the results of these actions will be
known to you and will have their effect as
normal.

So I would definitely track the German force in scenario 3 and you
should count casualties to that unit
