When a unit breaks, at what point do you roll on the Bad Things Happen table? Do you roll when the unit routs off the board or at the moment it breaks? We've been playing it that the force morale is checked at the moment a u it breaks. But suppose a unit breaks and falls back 2d6 + 6". In a subsequent phase a leader removes enough shock that it is no longer in broken status. It later receives more shock and becomes broken again. Do you roll for force morale again?
Granted, it will be difficult to target a unit which falls back that far as more than likely there won't be any enemy unit with the LOS to see the heavily shocked unit.

Re: Force Morale - When do you roll
I would say you are playing correctly. I.e you check the moment the unit routs, then move it its rout move, then if you manage to recover shock before end of the turn the unit can then be routed again triggering another roll on the bad things happening.
Just remember that you only roll for the leader routing if he is with a unit and it is routing and the turn ends. Then you roll for the leader only, not the infantry again.
At least that is the way we are playing.

Hi,
Yes, you both have it right. Rich was asked this question on the Yahoo Group and answered:-
You do not roll for a Leader breaking initially, only when he routs from the table.
Rich
Does that mean that if a team or section breaks, is rallied before
routing, then accrues more shock and breaks again, you end up rolling
twice for them?
and got the answer:-

You roll for force morale when the unit breaks, not when it leaves the table. HOWEVER, if any leader is with them when they are removed from the table you DO roll at that point for a Leader routing from the table.

I asked for clarification on the same thread:-

and got the answer:-
Yes. Precisely.

Is that gamely? Surely this is hitting your enemy where you know he is weak.
