Later war lists

Post by steveintokyo »

I note the game has been out several years, But I am unable to find any lists for later-war platoons.

I suspect a few are sprinkled in supplements, But it seems odd I cannot find , say, late-war paratroopers, for example.

Perhaps I missing the obvious but all links I have found seem to end at 1941!

You wont see them in any standard 44 lists.
They are in late 44 Volksgrenadier lists for Bulge.

If you search for assault rifles in this forum you will se many posts about added them in if you want to.

The lists in the core rule book are generic starter lists for the period from post D Day. You will find other more specific lists in the Pint Sized Campaigns or TFL Specials. The “Rendezvous with Destiny” campaign written by William Thorpe on the Battle for Carentan in 1944 features German paratroopers for example.

The lists reflect the weapons most generally used by the historic units. In the “Rendezvous with Destiny” lists German Paras have the option to substitute 1 FG42 assault rifle armed figure for a rifleman in each LMG team up to a maximum of 2 per Squad. You will find lengthy discussion in posts on here on the effectiveness of the FG42 if you are interested.

If looking for German lists with significant numbers of assault rifles you should check out the Volksgrenadier Platoon list in the “Bloody Buckets” PSC as an example.

Why is it that 99% of German players want to field one of the rarest weapon in the war?
