Not my judgment TT, was the Big Fella's. An example he gave was that if you took a casualty, in many scenarios, the whole mission then changed to a casevac, and that many gamers might baulk at that kind of realism.

It's a shame these rules were not officially released. I too was looking forward to them. I've had lots of dealings with the MoD in the real world and I can't really see what their objection would be, nor what they could do about it. Tactics/Weapon parameters/etc are all readily available from public sources, so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. Skirmish Sangin are popular rules set in Afghanistan and yes, casualties can change the mission focus, to that of a Casevac/Medevac but that's only a reflection of real life combat today - but it's not always the case. Perhaps a version will get released in one of the specials - there is obviously a demand.

To be honest I like the idea of dealing with casualties and prioritising ensuring their safety. It makes some interesting tactical choices to be concerned over troops rather than using them as a “meat shield” for your favourite tank.

If there is no chance of release, is it possible to get a look at the play test rules? We would love to give it a go.
