Serbian Army 1914

Post by Hannover » Tue Jun 04, 2019 9:44 pm

Anyone got info/suggestions for the Serbian Army 1914 using CoC?
Platoons numbered 60 men consisting of 4 sections of 15 men each.
Any suggestions for National Characteristics and Support options?
Much appreciated.

I saw your query earlier and was intrigued but didn't respond as it really isn't a subject about which I know much. I certainly can't help much in terms of TOE, but on the National Characteristics I would suggest you could do something around the "Doctrine of Armed Citizens" - essentially the Chetnik bands, best known from WWII but as much part of the guerrilla movements during WWI and the Balkan Wars. You might also do something around what has been called "the Kosovo Myth" - essentially about the self-sacrifice of Serbian soldiers (and the Serbian nation) and "vengeance, martyrdom, betrayal and glory". I'm sure there are some pointers there for possible National Characteristics.

Well, 10% of the entire Serbian population died during 1914-1918. The Serbian army First Ban stood off the Austrians. I would suggest that they are stubborn and aggressive. As for Support options... Per a machine gun. Perhaps some of the Support options in SP2 would be relevant. "Phyysik", an Orthodox priest. A water or ammo wagon.
