Westwind panzerfaust question

Post by MLB »

The campaign rules say:

“The Soviets may use their Panzerfausts as anti􏰀 tank weapons, either issuing one per squad from List One, or as a dedicated Tank Killer Team from List Two. “

List one says:

“One panzerfaust 60 per squad”

Does this mean for one support point I can issue one panzerfaust to each squad in the platoon, or does it mean for one point I can issue one panzerfaust to one squad (in other words to give a panzerfaust to three squads costs 3 support points)?

My initial reaction was one point gets you one panzerfaust but when I see that a dedicated tank killer team is three men each with a panzerfaust for two points I was not so sure. Confused? I was.

Per squad means one point gives you one panzerfaust in each squad.

If it means a maximum of one per squad it doesn't say that...

In Operation Martlet, there is the option (for 1 support point) to add "Additional single Panzerfaust 30". I would go for "each panzerfaust costs 1 support point" but it's only a guess.

Bearing in mind the cost of a PF tank killer team in this PSC I would say you get 1 PF for 1 squad.

Getting the tank killer team gives you 3 PF for 2 points but they are all in one spot.

FWIW Having playrled this campaign what I wished for was a captured panzerschreck. ;)

I would agree with Rich H; from the 29 Let's Go campaign in the support it mentions "additional BAR per squad" and I understand that to mean one BAR for each squad. Otherwise I think it would say "a single pf 60"

One "thing" per squad means just that, surely? One per squad, not one per platoon.

In "29, Let's Go", that option for additional BARs is called "Additional BAR for all squads in platoon" in the support list.

I am assuming it is also a max of 1 per squad?
In which case it should have been written
"Add a Panzerfaust 60 for all squads in platoon in the support list"?

Perhaps "One panzerfaust 60 per squad" might be more succinct ;)
