dabbling in the War of 1812

Postby spqrdave » Mon Jun 05, 2017 2:11 pm

Here in Upper Canada we've been adding to our SP2 War of 1812 forces and dabbling in Mike Hobbs' excellent 1812 supplement:

some new terrain: http://spqrdave.blogspot.ca/2017/04/we- ... -town.html

Crossing the Niagara (playtest): http://spqrdave.blogspot.ca/2017/04/cro ... -1812.html

a new Anglo-Canadian force: http://spqrdave.blogspot.ca/2017/06/war ... sharp.html

Crossing the Niagara (non-playtest): http://spqrdave.blogspot.ca/2017/06/ray ... ights.html

We've been having great fun with Mike's great 1812 supplement and are planning to move through the remainder of the scenarios soon.

HI Dave

Thanks for posting all of these, they are a great read, would it be ok to share then on my blog and twitter feed?

I will admit to playing around with the stats for the US and British forces when I was writing the supplement and I think I tried making the US troops C&V but found in some scenarios it made them too brittle. But the beauty of Sharp Practice is you can tweak unit stats to your hearts content, so I understand why you changed them.

BTW good spot on my mistake around which Van Renssalaer was commanding the landing, I completely missed that when I was reading through the sources

Mike,

By all means, go ahead.

I've seen no issues with downgrading the US regulars through three tries at the scenario, although it is admittedly a small sample pool.

We're very happy with your work in the supplement and can only praise you for all the hard work involved.
