What do we know about the upcoming 2nd edition of the SP? Is there an established release date?

Maybe sooner or not.
From the Yahoo group earlier today
"Oy! Cheeky bugger. I've not had a drink for two days and none planned until Monday. Too busy working on SPv2. Really coming together now.
I got my Government Army for the '45 in the post yesterday, so that's the big project for the coming week.

I also believe that Richard is doing a demo game at crusade in penarh (South Wales) at the end of January
Re: 2nd edition
Yup, I'll be at Penarth with the ACW version of the game. I am hoping for a release before Salute. We won't be at Salute this year due to the entire clusterf*** that was 2015 (I just didn't apply as it coincided with the worst shit with my mother in law and got overlooked).
Although, we will be having an afternoon with the Lardies in the Fox if anyone fancies a little light relief from the gig itself.
Cheers

Oh, this piece might be of interest. A brief flourish of some of the ideas behind v2:

Re: 2nd edition
Not in the current playtest version. Poor troops currently come in tens and really poor can come in twelves (that's how my Spanish Guerillas are organised).
But as I understand things this is one factor in fine tuning the balance of the game and things could change before publication.
