Nile Expedition 1885

Post by Darren » Wed Apr 10, 2019 10:37 am

Hi All,

I'm new to Sharp Practice, and haven't played a game yet.

I have masses of Madhist, Egyptian, Sudanese and British troops in 15mm, that I would like to use with Sharp Practice.

Breach loading small arms are covered in the rules. I will to do some research regarding ranges of muzzle loaded compared to breach loaded artillery. There is also the question on Gatling guns and the like, this is in the "too hard basket" for the now.

Apart from the proliferation of breach loaded weapons, I believe the SP2 could be used without any other changes for the 1885 Nile Expedition.

I would appreciate hearing from more experienced SP2 players if I'm heading in the right direction.

Regards
Darren

Hi Darren,

No expert on this but have you done a search on the Forum? I know at least one person has been working on the Zulu Wars and I think they cover gatlings. There is also a Blog post here that might be of interest:

Thank you for your reply.

I did search the forum but I didn't find the article you've highlighted.

The article was helpful, I will need to think about this some more
