Some detail please

Post by sunjester » Sun Sep 15, 2013 10:11 pm

Can anyone who plays these offer a bit of insight as to how they work please.

The website says that they handle forces of 30 to 120 figures.
Do they feel like IABSM (ie company level) or are they more like TW&T, or CoC with cards?

Thanks
Graham

Hi,

They are brigade level rules, with companies as the manoeuver elements.

As to the rules you list, they are more like IABSM in play style.

Cheers,
Jim

Greetings

It's been a while so I may get this wrong. I had to flick through my copy.

Basically it's a bit more like earlyish IABSM - it's got cards and blinds - but two levels up I.e. the player commands a brigade or so vs a company. Stands represent platoons. Scale is 1" to about 60 yds. Command quality links into command points to order battalions and signals ability. Movement is not randomised but the effect of bad ground is. Firing has a number of +/- modifiers and has kills and suppression. Close combat is close to IABSM. There's quite a bit of national differentiation between troop quality levels. Battalion HQs are important to manage suppression.

Hope this helps a bit.

Regards

Edward

Thanks very much guys.

I realised part of my confusion was the "30 to 120 figures" bit was actually Mud and Blood!
