The Scottish Corridor

Well, we're now about half way through The Scottish Corridor, so time for some reports:

Campaign overview

Game 1: Probe at Bas de Mouen

Game 2: An encounter at Le Valtru

Game 3: Attack in Mouen

Game 4: Counterattack in Mouen

Game 5: Counterattack in Bas de Mouen

Initial traffic was all one way. Having won Operation Martlet the Germans were able to hit both flanks of the British salient early in the morning, and both kampfgruppes quickly swept aside the surprised outer defences. Despite being very much on the back foot the 15th Scottish have just played their campaign Wild Card and launched a two-game counterattack into the Germans, which has knocked Kampfgruppe Frey back a little.

The British counterattack quickly ran out of steam due to having very limited support and the Germans have wrestled the initiative back. Morale is low on the British side, and the Germans only have to capture four tables in the remaining seven turns, so the Jocks have a bit of a mountain to climb.

So far I've found playing as the Brits in this campaign bloody difficult. They've got plenty of men, but so do the Germans, while the Germans are well supported and the British have sod all. Damned if I'm not going down without a fight though!

This is a sensationally reported campaign, and it is presented incredibly well on the only blog to which I have ever subscribed. In fact, I'm using this series as a selling point to a couple of mates who are becoming interested in Chain of Command, with very promising results.

Much respect.

Your blog is amazing really sets the standard by which Pint-Sized campaign AARs are judged. I too am using your reports as a way to pimp CoC to my friends. I can't wait until the next installment!

Cheers guys, if people like reading them I'll keep writing them!

If you've got some newbies you're trying to entice I'd suggest maybe swerving Op Martlet and Scottish Corridor and instead taking a look at Kampfgruppe Von Luck first. It's a lot shorter and snappier. Our run through of Martlet turned into a bit of a grind towards the end if I'm honest.
