There Are Many Rivers to Cross AAR Game 7 (Game 10 Posted 20 Sept)

Cheers Group,

More 1940 goodness. Game 7 AAR in the There are Many Rivers to Cross PSC just uploaded to the files section on the Facebook group.

French Motos have to destroy two bridges to slow the onrushing Germans. Longest game in the campaign, comes down to the wire. Here's a link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1444501242432741/files/

Have a look if interested. BTW, if you don't do FB, I have the pdf files in a drop box and can share the link if you drop me a PM with your email.

Another excellent report and agree with TT's comments.
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Thanks, gents. Hats off to TT and the Baron for well received input.

Toward the end of the game, with one engineer left (wiring up the plunger I expect) the French took a hit on that lone engineer and rolled a six - roll to see if it's an officer - never so happy to see a senior leader take a wound! Really could have had quite a different outcome - not sure the Germans could have taken the bridge - but there would have been a bloodbath in the attempt. Game 8 on the way, damned French engineers still haven't made it to their objective...

Game 8 in the "There Are Many Rivers to Cross" PSC - Blitzkrieg zu Fuss being uploaded to the files section of the Facebook Group. 1940 action with the Germans desperate to break through the French defenses. Have a look if so inclined. Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1444501242432741/files/

Just added the AAR for the 9th game in the "There Are Many Rivers to Cross" Pint Sized Campaign - Played Big CoC style. Uploaded to the files section of the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1444501242432741/files/

As ever, if you don't do Facebook, files are available in a Dropbox folder - send me a PM.

Germans are down to their third (and final) unit as they attempt to win the campaign by seizing the bridge. Take a look if interested - always open to suggestions. Hope you enjoy!

Nice AAR as usual.
For the Germans to attack in the face of 2 Panhard's, a tank and an AT gun is not going to be easy at all.
Good luck!

TT,

It will not be easy...

The 2e R.A.M. had two squadrons, one with H35 tanks (Escadron de Combat) and one with Panhards (Escadron de Decouverte). Each was supplemented with Motos. In Forczyk's book "Case Red" he indicates that the 2e DLC reached the Abbeville area with a handful of H35s and around a dozen Panhards in late May 1940. So they seemed like reasonable support units - and they are cheap at 3 points apiece on the DLC support list in the 1940 Handbook.

At any rate, the dastardly Boches have a plan. Game 10 is on the table. AAR soon. Appreciate the support and encouragement!

Cheers
