Nice write up - I really felt for your Pak throwing shots at the jeep to no effect!

On a side note from your overhead shots at the start it looked like the paras got a JOP further up on their left (in the wooded area) than looks possible from the triangle generated from what appear to be the closest patrol markers in the early picture, hard to tell of course from pictures! and probably wouldn't have changed much.

it is a little bit slanted in favour of the Paras.

Slanted? I got my posterior handed to me in the very first scenario by a supposedly surprised platoon of the SS supported by heavy machine guns and mortars...

Our third game was fought, and after days trying to find the notes I took, I just winged it and posted it.

Really enjoying the campaign aspect to play and we'll be trying to tackle another one again soon.

Hi !
We are planning to play this campaign after the holidays.

Is the strength rating correct (-2 for the Germans and +8 for the paras.

Did you play with the 6th red dice ?

It does not say it but I suspect the Germans are Green hence the -2
Will check on my Coculator spreadsheet

Nope with 1 SL and no Schrecks or fausts they are -2 as regulars
This does not account for the superior JL though

Another question regarding support options.

According to the rules, in patrol scenarios:
Roll 1D6.
On a roll of 1 or 2, both sides may select support from List 1 (amended depending on relative Platoon Strength Ratings).
On a roll of 3 or 4, they may select support from List 2.
On a roll of 5 or 6, List 3 is used.

Q1. Do each side roll 1D6 or 1 dice is rolled for each side ?

Q2. According to the strength rating, does it mean that Brits are -2 in their support list (so, at best, list 1) and Germans are +8 in their list (at worst, list 9) ?

Thanks

Hi naash,

Sorry for the delay in replying. We did use the 6th red die - we tried some test games with just a 6th die and it made the Para's nearly invincible. We had the Germans as -2, and the Paras as +9 based on the errata.

For the patrol scenarios, we had the campaign attacker (Paras) roll the d6. They then took that number, and I added the difference in forces. The Para support list is pretty much what they roll, and the Germans get the difference between their force rating. Or at least that's how we played it! The scenario in WSS has very specific support lists, meaning that the Germans can only select up to List 8 (but could have in theory more points than that for later battles).

Thank you !
I have another question.

According to the scenario :
"The Germans have no reinforcements available during the campaign.
However, they can call for replacements once, with men shifted from adjacent platoons to stiffen up their position."

What does it mean exactly ?

It means that you can use the rules in ATSE for asking the CO for replacements once during the campaign. These can replace any casualties lost from the platoon and the number you get will depend on the level of the CO's opinion of your performance so far in the campaign.
