General D’Armee - A Village on the Belgian Border

Post by Actingashcroft » Tue Apr 16, 2019 7:48 am

I thought I would share a recent battle of GdA. My collection (completely inspired by the rules) is all pendraken and the Village is TBMs lovely resin buildings. Instead of a turn by turn job, I have plumped for ‘phases’. Each link goes through a number of turns and covers all the important moments. Underneath the pictures are text- tap the text and the full description appears. I am having great fun with the rules and can’t wait to get my next batch of figs off the workbench and onto the table. Thanks to DB and TFL, I thought my Napoleonic gaming was confined to skirmish until these rules came along- great stuff!

A,

Glad you enjoy the rules! 8-)

Very nice set up, esp. the village - is that Total Battle Miniatures?

They are indeed! I can’t recommend them highly enough, very nice folk to deal with as well, excellent customer service too. The buildings paint up so nicely with even just a very basic base, wash, dry brush job like I did with mine.
I noticed in your Salute write up that you had some of the total battle buildings in your Ligny game? One day I will make it to Salute (I am in London) but my gaming budget is carefully planned and I don’t think my wallet would survive the vendor area!
The rules are great, so good in fact that I have plans to increase each of my armies to 4 infantry brigades per side (from 3) with 2 cavalry brigades each and another couple of batteries (spelling?) . . . AND make a new, bigger, table top to put them all on. I was surprised how well the rules work with 4 brigades per side, but I really want to see how the c&c decisions change when you have to manage 6 Brigades. I’m having a great time!
Cheers

Really fun AAR. Sounds like things were hotly contested all around!
