28mm Civilians/Characters for SP2 Peninsular War

Post by bunguster » Mon Jul 30, 2018 11:27 am

Having seen several photos of demo games I wondered where to get civilian and non military characters suitable for the Peninsular War period.
I seen and purchased some Redoubt Miniatures figures which gives me some European "Damsels in Distress" and some Gentlemen in frock coats etc but where to find suitable figures for Spanish inn keepers, monks and other religious types plus farm hands and the numerous inhabitants of the towns and villages on the table.
Does any one have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Perry has some Carlist War Spanish civilians (CAT 15 and 16) that I use as civilians for the earlier period: see https://www.perry-miniatures.com/produc ... ts_id=1742 and https://www.perry-miniatures.com/produc ... ts_id=1743.

They also have armed clergy from their Carlist War range which I mix in to a Spanish Guerrilla force, but they are not so civil!(see https://www.perry-miniatures.com/produc ... ts_id=1756)

I should also give a plug to Eureka Miniatures who do some cheeky 18th Century Civilians - they probably best suit mid-1700s but there were plenty of the ancien regime still getting about in Spain and Portugal in 1800s. See http://www.eurekamin.com.au/product_inf ... ts_id=1783.

If you look at the Perry AWI range (slightly older clothing styles, but the women's dresses didn't change that much) pack 73 contain eight civilians, including three women and two small children (you might need to head-swap the two tricornes), and pack 176 contains a camp scene, which includes two women, and two men in waistcoats and overalls which would work (again, you might need to head-swap the two tricornes - the two guys in uniform coats might be ok for "retired" Spaniards though).

Yes, but that's Cornwall - they still burn witches.

It's OK, I won't take her there. And no, TT, I will not name her!

Thanks for the prompt responses, Gents.
Perry and Front Rank suggestions look useful and on order as I write.
Thanks again.

Take a look at Galloping Major to, FIW / ACW figures, but 20 years for civilians isn’t much. Do a really good shop/ inn keeper.
