28mm Winter War KS from Baker Company

Post by Thomas Nissvik » Tue Sep 10, 2013 11:29 am

We are already doing Winter War in 20mm, but the new Kickstarter from Baker Company looks too good to resist. I shall simply have to fund it by selling old stuff. (Anyone want some GW Epic stuff?)

Looks like £60 per side will buy you all you will ever need for a game of CoC.

Ohh shinny very shinny, but Longstreat was bad enough young penguin not to mention a Very moderate Swedish conflict so nice as they look I am going to let this one pass. However I may some time after retiring invade penguin land demanding a game with yours

Ok, I'll take the blame for Longstreet, but Moderate Warbis Michaels fault. And look on the bright side:both Finns and Soviets will fit right into a Swedish CW setting, no problem!

not helping I am so going to end up running a campaign of a Moderate Swedish conflict in the Uk at some point I can see it. I really should do a Very British civil war but couldn't stomach any one having to play the BUF the SS are bad enough but the BUF are some how more personal.

There's always these chaps as a stand-in for the BUF:

Which is precisely the reason I wanted to run it set in Britain. My grandpa was a "Volunteer Corporal", i e he joined up for NCO training in 1941. He knew lots of people who went to Finland but he also knew people who went to Wiking...
In 1939 he came close to joining a Swedish nazi group as they promised protection against the communist group who had been attacking him for his refusal to join the union. His comment was "It turned out they were all the same but the nazis had snappier uniforms." In the end he stayed violently independent. Gee, I wonder what happened to those genes. He could not possibly have passed them on to his grandkids...;-)

I know the feeling my grandfather a die hard old school Tory was reported to have said he he had a bullet or two in his revolver for Oswald Mosley & brought up three sons who where die hard socialists even if two of them went into business.

I leave you to guess if this awkward streak passed any further down the family tree.

we will have to discuss it over a beer or several some time.

We will indeed have to do that. I have checked the train lines up to Burton. I won't make it on the next UK trip in November as we are busy with the Doctor Who thing, possibly though early next year.

You mean you have NOT bought your beloved tickets for the Doctor Who 50th jubilee at ExCel? For shame, sir!
