Would troops running away really make for a good Jump Off Point? sounds a bit like against the purpose, doesn't it? Not saying this because I'm italian...

It is indeed :lol: But I explicitly don‘t want to refer to the much cited „Italian cowardice“ firstly as I think it’s been more of a propaganda ploy by Allies and Germans alike and second I think it’s a huge disservice to any fighting men.

I can't take credit for this quote, but I remember something along the lines of "Let it be to the credit of the Italian fighting man that he was not so eager to die for so unworthy a cause."

Thoroughly agree, and anyone who has seen a RL Italian Tankette will have enormous respect for the men who went to war in them.
