Italian JoP‘s?

Post by moiterei_1984 » Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:50 pm

Evening gents,

so, I‘m starting on painting me an Italian force for Sicily 1943. I‘m well sorted with troops but what really eludes me are good ideas for force specific JoP‘s. And no, I‘m not after fleeing or surrendering dudes... ;)
I was thinking about maybe tables with pasta and the like but then I prefer my stuff to blend in with the encironment. I could of course go with the ubiquitous oil barrels and the like but would prefer something more thematic. So any input would be greatly appreciated!

Lemon and/or olive trees. Grape vines. Wrecked Italian civilian or military vehicle.

A Sophia Loren figure? I think one of Foundry's peasant women would fit the bill, voluptuous, assets almost on show?

I'm working up some Italians myself, and had honestly been pondering the plates of pasta as well, to match some Brits brewing tea I'm doing for the Allies. Otherwise I hadn't come up with anything Italian-specific yet, but will probably do little vignettes with abandoned card games and the like.

What is that photographed vehicle?

Thanks for the suggestions gents!
@ Levi: Abandoned card games sounds like a good idea. Not really specific but could be used for more than just the Italians.
The vehicle is an ammunition carrier for the Semovente 90/53. It‘s based on the L6/40 light tank.

A stash of vino to go with the pasta meal? Or even better just a wine rack...
