Lard locator

Quickly created the Lard locator, which you can edit yourself. as a bonus we can embed this in a permanent topic if the mods agree with it!

TUTORIAL:
1) type in your location in the search menu, a green pin with a small popup menu will appear stating the name of the location.
Remember Lardies, this is a public map, so only share what you're willing to share eg your lardie hometown or the place where you play most often.
2)Click on "add to map".
3)Use the "Edit" function to change the name to your facebook profile/forum name so players can locate you.

Alone* in the Northern Great Plains of North America.

*the nearest logged Lardie is ~1000km away. Not as big as the universe, but certainly farther than the chemist... ;) **

Jason Western MA...never actually played a game using any of the TFL rules. But I’ve read SP and think it’s a great rules set and own a few models (AWI) that is love to use some time.

The link just takes me to my normal Google Maps app and I can’t see any search function (just the usual ‘get directions’), have I missed something?

Hmmmm, I see no Lardies in Australia and I just get the blue dot that shows my current location. Is it defaulting to my usual Google map?

OK solved it. Works fine from my PC but not from phone or tablet. Sorted.

The Google map looks great but, as you say, it doesn’t seem to work on all formats. Once Rich has completed the work on the 1940 handbook, would be great to have the “Lard Locator/Lardfinder General” board, with a link to the map as its first post.

Then we can all jump in with our own posts - if we use our location as the title of each thread, it’ll be easy for newcomers to scroll through and spot those relevant to them - nice and low tech for all us dinosaurs. :-)

It would also be nice to have a directory of annual Lard events, with dates and locations. Could that be put on the same map, but with - say - different coloured "pins" to distinguish them? (I mean using one different colour for events, not a different colour for each event.)
No plan survives first contact with the dice.
