War of the Roses

Post by Paul7926 »

Hi folks

Is there any old, existing or planned Lard rules to cover the War of the Roses (1455 - 1487) or indeed anything medieval?

There was an SP1 variant in the 2013 Summer Special.

Kind regards,

I'm sure SP2 could be modified for Wars of The Roses.

I'm not over-fond of the melee process in Sharp Practice as it stands (I find it a bit bloody, for both sides). I'd want it heavily modified if adapting SP2 for an essentially pre-gunpowder age.

Perhaps try:

lower quality deduct two dice/group rather than higher quality add two/group

and

have 5s Shock and 6s Kill for men in full plate armour, 4/5s Shock and 6s kill for those in half-plate or similar and 3/4s Shock and 5/6s Kill for those merely in jack or similar

as a starting point.

I'd suggest Dux B for WotR. Local gentry fighting amongst themselves even fits in with the Dux B campaign. Wish I could pull my finger out and have a crack at it.

I have the SP2 version of 'All Base Passions', the SP1 conversion. No idea who created it though.

Yeah DuxB could work, but if your going to use DUxB you need to overhaul shooting to reflect on the use of the Longbow and early gunpowder weapons.
